Antonios Papadakis (Director of Public Health, Region of Crete, Greece)

Dr. Antonios Papadakis is a Public Health Inspector and Director of Public Health at the Region of Crete. He holds a B.Sc. in Public Health, an MPH, an M.Sc., and a Ph.D., and he currently serves as a Postdoctoral Researcher. He is also the President of the Panhellenic Association of Public Health Inspectors. Within the DxHub project, Dr. Papadakis serves as the Regional Coordinator for the Region of Crete, overseeing the alignment of project activities with public health priorities and regional strategic planning. He brings extensive experience in public health governance, epidemiological surveillance, and risk management. His leadership ensures that diagnostic innovations developed through DxHub are effectively integrated into the regional health system and contribute to advancing the One Health approach in disease prevention and response.

Eleftherios Koufakis (Special Consultant of Civil Protection, Region of Crete, Greece)

Dr. Eleftherios Koufakis is a Special Consultant of Civil Protection at the Region of Crete, with expertise in disaster management, public health, and materials/polymers science. He holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, an MSc in Disaster and Crisis Management, an MSc in Polymer Science and Technology, and a BSc in Materials Science. He also serves as the Vice President of the Alumni Association of Materials Science Graduates, actively supporting academic and professional engagement in the field.

Within the DxHub project, he contributes as a scientific and technical team member, supporting the development and integration of diagnostic innovations into civil protection and public health systems. In general, his work focuses on enhancing preparedness and response capacities through the application of point-of-care diagnostic tools in crisis situations. Leveraging his interdisciplinary background, he helps align DxHub solutions with emergency management protocols, regional public health strategies, and citizen engagement initiatives across Crete.
