SUMMARY:Encontro Nacional de Ciência Cidadã 2025
DESCRIPTION:DxHub participated in the Encontro Nacional de Ciência Cidadã 2025\, held on 13–14 November 2025 at the Templo da Poesia in Oeiras\, Portugal. The national meeting brought together researchers\, organisations\, municipalities\, teachers and citizens to explore the role of participatory science in key areas such as biodiversity\, public health\, education and local policy. \n\n\n\nThe two-day programme featured plenary talks\, international discussions\, thematic sessions\, presentations\, hands-on workshops\, demonstrations and poster sessions. This diverse format created valuable opportunities for sharing research results\, promoting dialogue between science and society\, and strengthening collaboration between communities\, practitioners and decision-makers. \n\n\n\nDuring the poster session\, DxHub presented “Diagnosing Waterborne Pathogens: Young Scientists in Action”\, an initiative developed in collaboration with SCPA\, STAB VIDA\, ITQB NOVA\, IHMT\, OCC and the Ciência+Cidadã Programme. The project introduces students to the process of detecting waterborne pathogens\, engaging them as young researchers and highlighting the impact of citizen science on environmental monitoring and public health awareness. \n\n\n\nOur participation in the event offered an excellent opportunity to showcase DxHub’s citizen-science activities\, promote methodological exchange and reinforce connections between research\, education and community-led
