Exciting times unfolded in Yerevan during the 4th Capacity Building Workshop for Pre-screening and the 4th Mentoring Visit on 7-8 November, 2024. The National Contact Points (NCPs) for Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area (WIDERA) under Horizon Europe, hosted a series of impactful sessions, focused on strengthening the NCPs’ skills and enriching their professional networks. 

A key highlight was the presentation delivered by Dr. Electra Gizeli (University of Crete & IMBB-FORTH). Dr. Gizeli shared valuable lessons from her own experience, detailing the critical improvements she made after an initially unsuccessful application (να γραψουμε εδω του DXHUB ισως;). She emphasized the importance of identifying and correcting weaknesses, to ultimately craft a successful proposal for an Εxcellence Ηub. Her candid reflections offered attendees actionable guidance on what to avoid and what to prioritize when applying for Horizon Europe funding. 

The sessions in Yerevan left participants with practical tools, renewed motivation, and stronger connections, all in support of improving success rates for Horizon Europe applicants.
