George Papadakis (Scientist, entrepreneur, and the CEO of BIOPIX-T)
Dr. George Papadakis is a scientist, entrepreneur, and the CEO of BIOPIX-T—a company at the forefront of advanced DNA technology, developing diagnostic solutions for the front lines of healthcare, enabling lab-quality testing anytime, anywhere.
George brings over a decade of expertise in groundbreaking academic research and entrepreneurship. In addition to his role at BIOPIX-T, he co-founded AWSensors Dx and has held senior research positions at leading institutions, including the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and the Demokritos National Centre for Scientific Research. Dr. Papadakis studied Biology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, obtained his MSc in Biochemistry from Sussex University in the UK, and was granted his PhD in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine from the University of Crete in Greece.
With a long-standing interest in genetics and technology, George’s track record includes six patents, more than 40 scientific publications, and five awards in innovation challenges.
Stella Chatziioannidou(Head of Research & Development and Production at BIOPIX DNA TECHNOLOGY S.A. (BIOPIX-T)
Stella Chatziioannidou holds a Master’s degree in Protein Biotechnology and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Crete. With over five years of experience dedicated to the development and optimization of the company’s core technology, she plays a pivotal role in overseeing and leading the production of high-quality products. She is also the inventor of one patent and leverages her scientific expertise and professional experience to drive the development of new products for the company.
