Fair and Equitable Partnerships — Ethics, Equity, and Collaboration in Global Health (part B)
Session 2: 27th January 2026
10:30 – 12:00 (Lisbon Time)
12:30 – 14:00 (Athens Time)
Link to the seminar: Masterclass
Description: This online masterclass explores what it means to decolonize global health. We’ll begin with a critical look at how decoloniality differs from equity, diversity, inclusion (EDI), anti-racism, and justice-focused approaches. Together, we’ll examine the idea of epistemic justice and consider alternative ways of knowing that challenge dominant perspectives in global health. Drawing on projects at LSHTM—including the development of a reflexive planning guide for decolonising research and work on Indigenous and decolonial evaluation methodologies—the session will share key insights, findings, and practical reflections on applying decolonial principles in global health practice and research.
Lecturer: Dr. Sali Hafez
Dr. Sali Hafez (BDS, MHS, DrPH candidate) is a global health specialist and researcher with over 15 years’ experience in fragile and low-income settings, focusing on health systems, gender, and protection. She is a fellow in decolonising evaluation methods at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), visiting fellow at Hawler Medical University, and advisor of “Women in Global Health Egypt”.
